FLATHEAD RIVER SYSTEM

|
North Fork of the Flathead River
We offer full and half-day fishing adventures on the North Fork, Middle Fork, and Main Stem of the Flathead River. From feral places like the Great Bear and Bob Marshall Wilderness, together with the shadowy haunts of Glacier National Park and the Canadian Rockies, comes the origin of the Flathead Rivers. A complex watershed, itself a wild indicator, the system represents one of the remaining strongholds for native Cutthroat Trout still found in Montana. Where else in the lower 48 can you catch native trout, cross the track of a grizzly, and enjoy the howl of a hidden wolf echo across the river, all in the same outing?

Middle Fork of the Flathead River
The Middle Fork is the Southwestern boundary of Glacier National Park and finds its origin in the dense Bob Marshall Wilderness. The Middle Fork represents some of the best angling opportunities in the entire Flathead System. Its upper reaches offer a true wilderness float with the added bonus of some exciting whitewater. This is one of our personal favorites and we look forward to guiding these trips whenever possible. We also offer multi-day trips on the Middle Fork.

THE MAIN STEM OF THE FLATHEAD RIVER
The Main Stem of the Flathead is a large river best suited for drift fishing. It is also very convenient to Whitefish, Columbia Falls, and Kalispell. After spring run-off, the lower Flathead offers some of the best dry-fly fishing in the state. The Flathead system, as a whole, is an excellent fishery. It’s a freestone river system with wild trout that spawn in wild places and can be an amazing place to spend a day.

THE CLARK FORK OF THE COLUMBIA RIVER
The Clark Fork originates to the East of Missoula, Montana at the confluence of Warm Springs and Silver Bow Creeks. The areas that we predominantly guide are east and west of St. Regis, Montana. We enjoy the Clark Fork because it provides ample opportunities for the angler to catch large trout on large dry flies. The Clark Fork is a big western freestone river best suited for drift fishing. Here, the angler has the opportunity to catch four species of trout- rainbow, cutthroat, cut-bow, and brown trout.
